Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) validates the ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks and work collaboratively with specialists on advanced security, voice, wireless and video solutions. The CCNP certification is appropriate for those with at least one year of networking experience who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. Those who achieve CCNP have demonstrated the skills required in enterprise roles such as network technician, support engineer, systems engineer or network engineer.

When you take the CCNP Certification you can become a Cisco Certified Network Professional. Having this certification under your belt authenticates your skills when installing, configuring and operating local and wide-area enterprise networks. As a result you will be working with specialists more on complex security, voice, wireless and video matters.

Prerequisites:

You will need at least 1 year of network engineering experience if you want to undertake the CCNP certification and enhance your skills to enable the mastery of more intricate network solutions..

Valid Cisco CCNA certification or any Cisco CCIE certification can act as a prerequisite.

Exams:

The best way to prepare for this certification is to take the Cisco-approved training:
  • Exam number 642-902 Implementing Cisco IP Routing (ROUTE) : Students will learn to plan, configure and verify the implementation of secure enterprise LAN and WAN routing solutions using a range of routing protocols.
  • Exam number 642-813 Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks (SWITCH): Students will learn to plan, configure and verify the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions using Cisco's Campus Enterprise Architecture.
  • Exam number 642-832 Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks (TSHOOT): Students will learn to (1) plan and perform regular maintenance on complex enterprise routed and switched networks and (2) use technology-based practices and a systematic ITIL-compliant approach to perform network troubleshooting.
